We are now closer than ever to bringing a new Aquatic Center to the coastside. The feasibility study was completed and progress continues to move forward as ground should be breaking this summer!

PROJECTS (Current and Past):
Our top priority had been for a Feasibility Study for a new community pool in Half Moon Bay.  Now, We are continuing our ongoing fundraising for a Pool Endowment Fund to support ongoing costs for the new community pool once it is built and our Membership Drive which goes to support the greatest need of the organization which could be a project already listed or something new as it comes up. FOHMBPAR is the funding arm of the Half Moon Bay Parks and Recreation Department. Together we have provided support and funding to the city administered Adopt a Park Program, Highway 1 median maintenance, the 7,000 square foot community skate park, the redevelopment of Mac Dutra Park and the rebuilding of Frenchman's Creek Playground.  

History:                                                                                                     In the darkest days of the 2008 recession, after the city of Half Moon Bay was forced to dismantle its own Parks and Recreation Department, a group of neighbors came together to create the nonprofit, Friends of Half Moon Bay Parks and Recreation. The mission then was simple: Find a way to raise money for the newly created 'Adopt a Park' program. FOHMBPAR quickly stepped in to be the first sponsor and led the way for other organizations and individuals to fill the need. As the economy and fundraising efforts of the organization have improved, FOHMBPAR has found new projects needing support.
