Supporting Successful Aging for All Coastside Older Adults Since 1977

Senior Coastsiders is the “go to” hub for services and support that prioritize the health and well-being of Coastside older adults. We do this by sharing information and resources about aging with the entire local community, offering assistance and advice to caregivers and providing an extensive list of programs and services:

  • Meals delivered to homebound seniors and adults with disabilities
  • Meals served in our center dining room
  • Classes & activities that meet the varying interests/needs of our participants (in-person, through Zoom and hybrid)
  • Transportation to and from our facility to local grocery stores and on outings
  • Care management for seniors and caregivers (including providing information, assistance, resources and referrals)
  • Minor home repairs
  • Pet Buddy program
  • Volunteer opportunities

Continued Support From Our Donors Is Critical To Sustain Our Operations

As the older adult population continues to grow on the Coastside, the demand for our services has drastically increased. Last year we set some impressive numbers, making a daily impact in the lives of Coastside older adults:

  • 14,340 meals were served in the dining room – more than double since 2022
  • 39,064 meals were delivered
  • 1,639 classes & activities were provided in person and online – with new offerings in Chinese and Spanish
  • 10,242 volunteer hours were donated – 80% of our programs and services are made possible by volunteers

What Our Community Is Saying

"Senior Coastsiders is amazing. I love going there for the exercise classes, crafting group, and delicious meals with friends in the dining room. The staff is great at providing the latest information, resources and opportunities for older adults on the Coastside. Their caring presence has made all the difference in my transition to senior living. I'm excited for the future."
- Dotty, Participant

"As I was turning 80 I decided it was time to start a regimented exercise program. The core of my program is Kerri's Pilates and Functional Strength/Movement classes. I attended her four classes every week. Since starting the classes I am experiencing major changes in my body - pain in my back and neck has all but disappeared, my posture is much better, I've improved my strength-stamina-balance and agility, I'm more energetic and don't tire easily. Friends have commented about the differences they see in me. Kerri is an accomplished teacher who is knowledgeable and caring about her students, always paying attention to us and offering modifications for those of us dealing with limitations. And, it's fun socializing with fellow students."
- Richard, Participant

"I'm paying it forward now by volunteering at Senior Coastsiders. One day I will need their services and I hope the new set of volunteers will be there to help me just like I am helping now."
- Kathy, Volunteer

"I live alone and feel staying busy helps me stay focused and happy and I am getting all the steps for my goo health as well. I get a big satisfaction in helping someone else and a community feeling."
- Farris, Volunteer

"Volunteering at Senior Coastsiders has given me an extended family of people who have come to mean a lot to me. We share stories, and laughs and thoughts and ideas about life."
- Nina, Volunteer
