We are a group of volunteers drawn together with the common goal of promoting accessibility to healthy, organic food for all. We wish to inspire and educate the next generation to cultivate organic foods, and to build community with our coastside neighbors, regardless of background or income. The first and all future HMB community gardens will be open to everyone!
Since Feb 2019, we have been meeting with a group of local community members, including several U.C. Master Gardeners, with a common goal of building the first community garden in HMB. The HMB City Council has endorsed our community garden project and pledged the use of land and starting funds. Our proposed community garden would implement several of the recommendations within the City's adopted Parks Master Plan. And the San Mateo County Office of Sustainability has also pledged funds to help us break ground.
As the c-FOG board of directors implement a plan with the City to build their first garden at Magnolia Park, we encourage the entire coastside community to share their thoughts and ideas.
Please help us achieve our goals of cultivating health, gardens and community--money is always appreciated, but we also value your expertise and time. Please join us in this worthwhile effort!

Mission
The mission of c-FOG is to cultivate healthy soils, food, and community on the San Mateo coast. c-FOG engages our community in the use of earth-friendly gardening practices to expand access to nutritious food for all and promote long-term stewardship of natural resources. Our activities focus on nurturing good health for ourselves and seven generations into the future by employing organic methods, providing educational opportunities, and sharing tools and information within a diverse community.
