Coastal Arts League
In 1980, CAL was designated a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, with a mission to encourage and support the creative arts in the community, through educational presentations, workshops, exhibits, and publications. From the gallery on Main Street in Half Moon Bay, the Coastal Arts League strives to create understanding and access to art. CAL is the only public exhibition space for visual artists on the San Mateo coast and is important to the culture and health of the Coastside. Artists find a community here, with whom to share their work. 13 shows are scheduled in 2019, and admission is always free. Juried Painting, Photography, and All-media shows award cash prizes. Art classes at the Senior Center provide social interaction for single adults. The High School Art show attracts families, and introduces students to the programs and resources of the Coastal Arts League.
