  OUR STORY 

  Six years ago, Beach Break Entertainment was founded with a simple mission: to bring the Coastside community together through the art of storytelling in film. What began as a local film series has evolved into the Half Moon Bay Film Festival, a landmark cultural event that celebrates creativity, community, and coastal life.

  Funds will support year-round film screening and educational workshops for local schools and adults, bringing powerful storytelling to our community, inspiring empathy, creativity, and civic engagement in Half Moon Bay.

  OUR IMPACT SO FAR

  • Presented 80+ film events for schools and community organizations

  • Welcomed 5,500+ attendees to our programming and festivals 

  • Partnered with 25+ local businesses and organizations, strengthening Half Moon Bay as a hub for arts and innovation — and driving local revenue

  • Collaborated with 10+ schools to enhance student access to the arts, including Grad Night 2021.

  • Created over 400 volunteer hours just in the last year.

  School Programming

  Every child on the Coast should experience the arts—regardless of background.

  • Philharmonia Fantastique + Musical Petting Zoo
    In partnership with the Coastside Community Orchestra, this lively, animated film—created by acclaimed composer Mason Bates with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra—takes students on a magical musical journey through the orchestra. The program includes a hands-on “musical petting zoo” where 4th and 5th-graders can explore instruments up close.
  • Free for all Coastside elementary schools 
  • Hosted at the Boys & Girls Club Event Center

  Community programs

  • Ongoing Documentary Evenings with filmmaker discussions, in partnership with Lenny Mendonca, The Mavericks House, and Brews and Views.

  • The 6th Annual Half Moon Bay Film Festival offering three inspiring days showcasing 10+ films, conversations with filmmakers and subject experts, and opportunities to experience storytelling that deepens our community connection.
