$30,000 Goal

For over two decades, Pie Ranch has envisioned a Bay Area where everyone has access to nourishing food and a deep connection to its origins. We are building a "symbiotic web"—a diverse corridor of climate-friendly farmers, land stewards, and ranchers—working together to benefit both people and the planet.

Through our Regenerator Program at Cascade, we provide early-stage farmers with the essential tools for success: mentorship, specialized workshops, market connections, and—most critically—equitable access to land. By focusing on business viability and shared resources, we currently support three active farms and one successful program graduate.

We proudly steward our land in honor of its ancestors, the Quiroste people of whom there are no known descendants.  For 12 years (2014-2026) Pie Ranch had a formal partnership with the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band and Amah Mutsun Land Trust (AMTB/AMLT) with the goal of bringing back traditional Indigenous land stewardship to these lands, welcoming all Indigenous peoples and allies to join us.  Pie Ranch continues to be committed to teaching about the history and current stories of these lands along with native plant stewardship, demonstrating how to weave together traditional ecological stewardship with regenerative organic crop production.

Pie Ranch is more than a farm; it is a hub for systemic change and serves as a convener and catalyzer for conversations around changing our food system.  Our reach spans from hands-on K-12 programs for 1,000 students to community-centered activities like fermentation workshops, team retreats, volunteer native plant restoration days, barn dances, and our local public farmstand. Every experience—from a shared 'seed-to-table' meal to a day in the fields—is designed to heal our relationship with the Earth and empower a more just food system for ourselves and the land that nourishes us all.

Testimonials

This experience has changed the way I engage with seeds, plants, and land in that I now recognize more clearly the interconnectedness of all parts of an ecosystem. I also think more about the purposes of Native plants and how there are so many benefits that the plants offer to the whole environment.

As the Executive Director at the Center for Agroecology, I’m excited to have begun deeper work with Pie Ranch in 2025 and help to support the incredible work and relationships they've created to make deeper, more lasting impacts on our food system.  Pie Ranch is a true vision of what is possible when you find that just right combination of passion, kindness and commitment and our community is so much the better for it.

  • Darryl Wong, Ph.D. Executive Director, Center for Agroecology, University of California, Santa Cruz

Pie Ranch shows us what long-term, systems-level change can look like when it is grounded in community care. Its work reminds me that the health of the earth and the well-being of people are inseparable, and that a truly resilient future for our region must be built through equity, cultural stewardship, and collective leadership.
