Pacific Beach Coalition (PBC) is an award-winning 501(c)(3) ocean conservation nonprofit committed to ending litter and preserving the ocean, coastal habitat, and wildlife through advocacy, education, and community action. As a co-steward of the coast for over 28 years, engaging more than 11,000 volunteers in 2025, we are honored to once again participate in Coastside Gives and always cherish our Coastside community.
"Thank you so much for the devoted work you do in the community to preserve our ocean and protect the coastal wildlife and habitat that we cherish." - National Charity League Coastside
We support community stewardship, hosting monthly cleanups and habitat restoration activities, public events and educational programming. During events, volunteers of all ages learn about the harmful effects of trash and toxins in our waterways, how becoming aware and learning to care can help restore precious coastal ecosystems, and when we take action together, anything is possible.

School assemblies motivate our youngest Earth Heroes to take action for their planet.
Each year PBC's school assemblies reach and inspire more than 4,000 students. Professional speakers captivate young Earth Heroes with their interactive programming about our Earth Honoree, the dangers of marine litter, and unique, diverse local ecosystem of our home by the sea. These in-school programs are also supported by Naturalists offering field trips and experiential learning outdoors.
Our 2026 Earth Honoree, Steelhead Trout, is a remarkable opportunity to highlight the interconnectedness between the ocean and our coastal waterways. We're proud to celebrate and educate with this resilient fish, still found at San Pedro Creek in Pacifica. Both these and past Earth Honorees, including brown pelicans, whales, nudibranch and more, each receive a teacher's toolkit to help bring fun learning to classrooms everywhere.
Volunteers take action at our 2025 MLK, Jr. Day of Service.
Join us this year on Saturday, April 18 at Half Moon Bay, Pacifica, and more!

Our promise to you and all the Coastside:
From Bay to Coast, Street to Beach, Creek to Sea, we believe that every part of our watershed is worth protecting, every piece of toxic plastic removed is a step toward a cleaner ocean, and every person who joins us is a beacon of hope for the future of our coastal communities.
We also believe that every place deserves care and stewardship, and every volunteer who joins in collaborative acts connects deeply with themselves, each other, and our shared Earth.
The Pacific Beach Coalition is dedicated to preserving the ocean, coastal habitat, and wildlife and ending litter through advocacy, education, community building, and citizen action.
