The vision of the Coastal Arts League is to be the free Public Art Gallery of Half Moon Bay. Exhibits change every month and admission is always Free. We also provide Free Weekly Art Classes at the Senior Center, plus access to art resources for children and adults through our website. Juried shows, Club shows, Benefit shows and Member exhibits support local artists living and working on the Coastside.
Our donors realize the importance of having a public art gallery in Half Moon Bay, and together we raise awareness of the importance of art as part of a healthy life. We reach out to people at home with online resources for art activities that the whole family can enjoy. Art Resources can be found on our website, Coastside-Artists.com.
Tax-deductible gifts help to keep the gallery open five days a week. Local artists contribute to tourism as visitors find original art, handmade gifts, and jewelry at affordable prices in the 300 Main Street Gallery.
Fundraising accounts for about 30% of our annual budget, mostly from individual donors. There are two seasons of public fundraising each year. In the Spring, we participate in Coastside Gives, a community-wide campaign to support local nonprofits. Then in the Fall we have the annual membership campaign.
Board Members: Jane Lewis, Betsy Harms, Thomas Goodson, Lu Chang, Peter Harames, Steve Rossi
Coastal Arts League is 100% volunteer run and 100% community funded. Thank you!
Mary Bennett says, " We wanted to send over a little thank you! My daughter came across your family art page https://www.coastside-artists.com/art-resources.html. It's led her to tons of awesome guides and she has learned so much from it! She refers to your resources quite a bit and I'm pretty sure she never closes the tab."
Judy Lurie says, "Painting along the spectacular coast around Half Moon Bay is truly a spiritual experience, a way of deeply appreciating the beauty of the area where we are lucky enough to live."
Recognizing the power of arts and artists to create positive change in the world, the mission of the Coastal Arts League is to encourage and support visual artists, with tools to make a living and a life, and to build a community full of meaning, joy, and connection.
Vision:
Our vision is to be the Public Art Gallery of Half Moon Bay, providing access to art, in an environment where diversity is valued and celebrated. We partner with other community organizations to provide programs for students and adults. Education programs connect Coastsiders and provide opportunities for volunteers to share the joy of art. Artists can find a community here, in an environment where diversity is valued and celebrated.
We collaborate with Senior Coastsiders, HMB High School, and other downtown art galleries. We reach out to people at home with online resources for art activities that the whole family can enjoy. Look for Art Resources on our website, Coastside-Artists.com.
