Alice's Restaurant Fundraiser

Alice's Restaurant is proud to sponsor a fundraiser for the La Honda Fire Brigade.  This year's campaign will fund the installation of Evacuation Sirens in La Honda and Middleton Tract.

When disaster strikes, remote communities are cut off first and warned last. Evacuation sirens would ensure that La Honda and Middleton Tract could receive life-saving alerts even when power and cell networks fail. Every moment of delay puts lives at risk. Depending on the amount of funding received, we could have additional sirens at other remote locations that are typically cut off from traditional forms of communication are cut-off. These sirens do not just produce an alarm.  They are also capable of voice instructions, in both English and Spanish, giving clear instructions on whether to prepare or leave.

Please help us install evacuation sirens in the South Coast.  The residents of the South Coast of San Mateo County are often without all forms of communication, even on regular days.  When a storm, an earthquake or fire happens in the South Coast, it is almost certain that traditional forms of communication will fail, leaving this vulnerable population without evacuation warnings or evacuation orders.
