Sweet Farm Foundation

A nonprofit organization

Founded in 2015 by Anna Sweet and Nate Salpeter, Sweet Farm is a sanctuary 2.0 experience that enables change at the global level while empowering people to take personal steps that make profound impacts on the lives of animals, the plants, and the planet.

Sweet Farm is the first non-profit sanctuary in the world to address the global impacts of factory farming across animals, the plants and the planet. Our food web is incredibly complicated and it's impossible to move forward without first acknowledging how these pieces are interconnected. By linking farm-animal rescue, veganic agriculture, education, and the technology that is revolutionizing animal-free food production, Sweet Farm is redefining what it means to be a sanctuary.

Farm Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation - We rescue and rehabilitate farm animals from various circumstances within the food system. These animal ambassadors spread the message that they deserve our compassion and respect and help educate farm visitors around issues related to animal welfare, factory farming, and sustainability.

Sustainable, Veganic Agriculture - Sweet Farm offers hands-on agriculture-based programs to inspire people to bring greater compassion to how they source, prepare, and eat food. We celebrate biodiversity, growing heirloom, open-pollinated seeds using veganic, sustainable methods.

Plant-Based Living - Our educational programs promote the ease and joy of plant-based living. These programs include on-the-farm classes and events, tours, volunteer days, and community outreach, as well as online education and advocacy that reaches a global audience.

Technology Start Up and Incubation - We partner with innovation start-ups in the humane and sustainable technology sectors to provide them with a diverse range of support, including aiding in access to venture funding, expanded networking, mentorship, product showcases and promotion. We believe innovation is the key to true global change.

At Sweet Farm we revere the well-being of our planet and all beings on it, be they four-legged, feathered, or human. We emphasize the need to understand what affects one's daily food decisions have on animals and the environment. We champion progress over perfection and honor small changes that lead to big impact.

Testimonials

Volunteer - "I really enjoy my time on the farm… the aches, the smell, the sweet interaction with creatures who only want what we all want. Thanks for answering all my questions and letting me immerse myself in the process! It's awesome."

CSA U-Pick Member - "I had an educational time harvesting veggies and an awesome time attending the cooking class!! Thank you "Sweet Farm" for not only adding recipes to our harvest days but also offering cooking classes so we can all be more mindful of how we eat!!!!"

Youth Volunteer Group - "All of us here at JFCS want to thank you for the opportunity to see your farm, meet the animals, and get our hands dirty with some real farm work. All of us here at JFCS admire your dedication to saving farm animals and treating them as friends rather than industrial products. We were all left with a lot of things to think about regarding our diets, our lifestyles, and our perspective about the living things surrounding us. Thank You very much, Sweet Farm!"

Jesse L. (Donor) - "I really appreciate the holistic and evidence-based approach you're taking to reducing or eliminating the world's reliance on factory farming."
