Coastal Rep is your home for live Broadway style theatre and provides opportunities for artistic development in all aspects of the theatre - acting, directing, lighting, set design, and more. We are inclusive and welcome all members of our community regardless of race, sexuality, or gender identity. Coastal Rep Kid's Theatre (CRKT) empowers youth ages K-12th grade arming them with creativity, confidence, critical thinking and collaboration skills all while fostering a passion for the arts and enabling them to see the every day in a new way.

Coastal Repertory Theatre is celebrating over 39 years in Half Moon Bay with a full Season of Broadway-style live theatre productions, and an active student performing arts program, enriching the lives of kids through the arts. With 6 plays in each Season, plus our 2 Coastal Rep Kids' Theatre (CRKT) productions, all set in our 158-seat theatre, our Season is thoughtfully curated with musical blockbusters, comedy, and thought-provoking drama. 

Over 2,400 students have participated in our comprehensive, year-round theatre education program for K-12 students, Coastal Rep Kids' Theatre (CRKT). The data is strong and clear - students benefit from arts participation infusing their worldviews with culture, boosting overall academic achievement, social engagement, school attendance, and graduation rates. Engagement also promotes college and workforce readiness. We receive some enthusiastic students from families that are in need of scholarships. Your gifts ensure that no student is turned away because of inability to pay.

With a very generous donation from an anonymous theatre-lover, we have installed a state-of-the-art LED projection system and brand new 18' movie screen. This allows us to bring movies and movie theatre rentals to our community. We are thrilled to have sponsored the 2nd Annual Beach Break Film Festival to enthusiastic audiences and look forward to continuing this partnership. 

In the summer of 2025, we will undergo some necessary equipment upgrades which will help keep Coastal Rep on par with industry standards and enable us to deliver the very best theatre experience for everyone. From the actors on stage, the crew running lights and sound, and the volunteers who share their love of live theatre, all are endlessly grateful to have this gem in our community and we need your help to continue to thrive.

Theatre arts lovers and active volunteers all find a welcoming home at Coastal Rep, and quickly become integrated into our "theatre family," where we inspire, entertain, and educate - connecting people to ideas and each other, promoting discourse, discovery, and creativity.
