Olivia asks for your help to finish Big Wave

Dear Friends and Family,

We are excited to share the progress of the Big Wave project—a community for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Half Moon Bay. The first and second floors are now framed, and the roof is on! Yesterday, along with over 60 members of the Big Wave Community, we toured the Big Wave Center and Olivia’s future apartment for the first time. It was such an exciting experience to see where Olivia will live, surrounded by new friends and the support of a compassionate community. She was overjoyed to see pictures of her friends in front of each apartment.

Big Wave is more than just a place to live. It’s a community that will provide resources, opportunities, and a true sense of belonging for adults with special needs. Olivia will thrive in this loving, supportive, and fun environment.

Thanks to the generous contributions of family, friends, and community, construction is well underway. However, we still need help! We are fundraising to complete the outdoor courtyard and kitchen, where we will host community events, training classes, and recreational activities, as well as the indoor commercial kitchen, training kitchen, and day program area for continuing education.

Additionally, we are fundraising to make a portion of the apartments available for adults with special needs who have extremely limited resources.
